Update on the Opsrey at Deer Creek.

We decided to check out the Opsrey at Deer Creek to see how they came through the horrid June Storm.
They were all there.  It is amazing to see the 3 babies.  We looked around for the other parent and finally found him on a tree on the bank...

The young ones look like they are about ready to take flight.

This one was flapping his wings getting ready for a take off.
We also noticed a Heron fly in along the bank behind the nest.  We didn't think anything of if at first until we heard this horrid noise!

The post on the left is the nest........both parents took off after the Heron and the Heron was screaming up a storm!!!!
They were flying in circles and diving at the Heron.  He took off and to fly into the brush along the water to hide.

You can just see his wing as he disappears....
It is an impressive sight, seeing two adult Osprey circling over head.  We backed up a bit into the trees just to be sure they didn't want to scare us too....
While all the commotion was going on, two of the babies got up to watch their parents protect them.
It was a good day for the Osprey!
