Over the River and .........

Over the River and Through the Woods...to the Amish Bakery we go!!!!
Cecil knows the way to guide our Cruiser through the falling snow!!!!

The trees are like ghosts in the new fallen snow.....
The quiet is welcome before the Holidays begin....
Then before our very eyes do we see!!!!
The Bakery!!!!

The snow sparkled like diamonds...
The signs of summer past....
We got out of our Cruiser and entered the bakery.....

Oh the smells were wonderful!  Home made bread, pretzels, cookies and cinnamon rolls....Oh My!!!!

We loaded our basket and walked around a second time...to be sure we
had not forgotten a thing....Paid for our wares and away we fled to our Cruiser.....

A pretzel we must try....

Cecil and I munched away on the warm, yummy pretzel....smiles and feeling of  warmth filled us....

Over field and stream we hurried home......

Then entering the city the snow flakes grew to large, falling from the sky in a waltzing manner....

Almost home when we decided to go through the park....

The pond is starting to freeze....

The ducks could only walk to the other side of the bridge where the water was warmer and not frozen.

One last picture and home we flew....Tore open the doors and turned on the coffee pot!!!!

Pretzels, rolls, cinnamon bread, fry cakes and cinnamon rolls!

So we settled down for a nice afternoon of snow and warm drink and a cinnamon roll or two!!!!!

Wishing everyone a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!!!!!

Finally...Fall Colors!!!!

I have been going out looking for the fall colors for a month now and finally....today colors could be seen!
We started in the park...Yoctangee Park....

So beautiful.  The Canadian Geese really enjoy the park too.

I am going to let you just browse through the pictures, imagining you are walking around the park.
This one is the big Sycamore tree looking west across the lake.

A Mallard swimming under a Catawba tree....

Looking east....

The Swan swimming by....

The park bridge...can see the other Swan on the other side...

 Looking north off the bridge...

Looking south off the bridge toward Water St.....

The Gazebo by my favorite   Catawba Tree...from Indian for Tribal Totem Tree...

We then drove over to the park annex to see how the color was there....

The color wasn't as pretty along the Scioto River...

So we decided to check out Great Seal State Park....

This tree caught my eye...the color was so beautiful.
There was a path way going under a branch from this tree...Looked very inviting...but the hike for another day.....

The leaves are falling fast now that we have had some cold weather....

Then we thought ....let's go to Adena and look at the mountain from there!   Well we were very disappointed when we arrived....

Yes! Closed!  We couldn't even drive up to look out at the view where the Great Seal of Ohio was capture from.....

So this was taken by the gate...

And anyone who has driven up this road, has seen the lake and bridge to the right...It is so lovely, I couldn't resist...I had to get a picture.

Then I drove my husband around to the original entrance from long ago and not to far away!!!!

I love the stone entrance gate.......

After the disappointment of not being about to get in at Adena....We decided to go by the Dairy Queen on High St. and get a couple of "Pumpkin Pie Blizzards" and go home and eat them to make us feel better!!!!!

We did feel better and really enjoyed those blizzards!!!!  I was thrilled to see some fall color finally...hope you enjoyed it too....
