Ghost Walk, Chillicothe 2013

I have been waiting all year for the Ghost Walk.  It finally arrived on Oct. 13, 2013!
We started out at Horizon.  We arrived just before 11 a.m.  We were so excited about what we were going to see and what we might not see.....Just before we started the tour, one of the official Ghostbuster arrived!

Wished us a safe and not too scary tour!

So I noticed two items while waiting to start our tour......a young girl watching from a window

An then I noticed a tower....I don't remember ever seeing this before and couldn't think what it might be?

The tour of Horizon started in the  James M. Thomas museum which was packed with so much interesting stuff.  I will have to go back just to have another tour just of the museum.

The Telephone booth!

The Switchboard.

The round thing is the director that the operator would look in when you use to call for someones phone number.

Found my Dad's name listed.

Then we were lead into the entry and there was this person who greeted us in a very friendly way...
(I think she was real and not a ghost)

We were now going to go through the house part of the phone company.  Which was owned once by Marcus Boggs.

Another visitor from the past?

She guided us around the first floor which had 4 pocket doors that were gorgeous.

Looking through the door here you can see another pocket door.

The ceilings and fireplaces were pretty.

Up to the second floor and another spirit?

She guided us around and then to the neatest office ..... This was Robert McKell's office.

 It is small but beautiful.

Just off the office is a bathroom and I found the sink very charming.

Then we were greeted by this charming lady.....

She showed us this other area that was at one time rented out the rooms to people.  More pocket door!
Just beautiful....

And we ended up coming down into the old Tudor Store!
As we were met by another charming Ghostbuster!
Our next stop was across the street at the Globe Furniture store.  I use to love going in and walking around and seeing the beautiful furniture....I was anxious to see what we were going to see.....
Waiting to be let in, this pictures gives a feeling of ghosts standing there.....then coming down the stair was this flapper!  She took us up stairs and didn't seem scary at all.....

There was an arrangement of early 1900's furniture and appliances. The Flapper gave us some history of when the store opened and the family.

Then she lead us to the freight elevator and told us to get in and waved good-bye to us!  Oh my, where were we going?
As we descended into the basement....I felt a slight chill...yes I know I did!
After seeing this picture....do you see the green orb?   There was something else in that elevator, I know it!

There we found the advertising and old equipment from years gone by.

We found our way back up stairs and this lovely spirit met us and we then found ourselves in the 50's!

Our next stop was the Foulke Block.

We climbed up this stair case.

An this spirit met us and told us some about the building.  It is so beautiful! I was thrilled to be able to go inside.

Then the spirit told us to take the elevator down.

We arrived in the basement and I know everyone who remembers shopping at Schachnes, remember the way your money was sent through the tube.

Then we were lead out the door to this tunnel under the sidewalk.....Where would we end up now?

The spirit here was very nice and guided us the right way to go.....

Coming up from below, I saw the Hermann's sign on the floor...

Across the street was the Carlisle building....It really looks haunted....

Across the street is the building that use to be the Savings Bank when I worked there back...well a while ago!   That would be an interesting building to go through...

And the Court House....We made it...We were ok....

We walked past the lovely flower beds at the Court House....on our way to the Majestic!

There are several empty stores on Second St.  They looked haunted....

Advertisement from the past.

At the Majestic there was entertainment, while we waited for our tour.

Walking in and seeing the doors...They counter to the right where you paid your ticket and got candy is gone.

Inside we found a spirit from the Camp Sherman Days!  He looked wounded...but I thought the deaths were caused by the Flu epidemic.....

Then his nurse appeared and guided us up the staircase......

From the balcony....oh how the memories came flying back.....

This is the projection room....I had never seen inside before.
Up the stairs we went to the next floor...Very spooky...like we were going back in time...

The nurse joined us and knocked on this door and the round hole was opened and she spoke a secret word and we were allowed to enter....I don't seem to remember what the secret word was...??

We were met by this dapper Gentleman from an age long ago and he took us on the tour of the secret area.
It was like a Stephen King novel....the room looked old and unused...but I bet at midnight it is different....

In the nest room there were the Knights on the walls....The Gentleman said that the restored part was done to show what it's beauty was once like....but it was getting late and just maybe....maybe the room was changing.......

I looked out the window and there was that tower, I had seen earlier in the day! I was wondering if I would ever find out what it is.

The nurse met us as we came down the stairs and told us to go into the theater.

 Walking into the seating area...

View of the theater from the stage...

Then down to the star's dressing rooms........

Now these rooms looked scary.....
But wait!!!! Who is on the stage?  Are those actors?  Spirits?

Next stop the Phoenix Firehouse.

Looked like they are ready to go out on a call.....

Here is a green orb!  My friend also got some from his pictures of this area.... Very strange....

I think we all remember this or something very close....I remember on on Water and Church Street area....

This is an old water bucket for putting out fires.  I know you are wondering why it is pointed...The guide or spirit (I haven't decided yet) said that they were made that way so the public couldn't use them for milking....

I stepped outside for some air as it was a tight space with all the fire equipment and such....
and
What do you think I saw?
Yes!!!! The tower!!!!  It is the city fire tower.  At one time it was maned 24 hours.  You can see over the whole city to see if there is a fire.   I wish we could have gone up it..but we couldn't  the metal beam over the window is what they used to lower the hay down to the  horses.
I was born here and never knew about the Fire Tower.  Did you?

We ended our Ghost walk at the Court House.

The Seal of Ohio as you enter.....
Our lovely spirit that told us about the court room.....

The ceiling is just a beautiful.

Going down the stairs as we were leaving....I never tire of visiting the Court House.

Well that was the wonderful Ghost Walk.  I hope you enjoyed it too.
